Anneliese and Markus Loidolt began building the Semriacherhof in 1970 with a great deal of enthusiasm and initiative. What once began in an apple orchard is now a top address for gourmets and wine connoisseurs as well as a starting point for individual journeys of discovery through the Graz region.
Our house has a long tradition. Join us on a journey through time and discover what makes the Semriacherhof so special.
Several decades have passed since Anneliese and Markus Loidolt welcomed their first guests to our hotel. Anneliese Loidolt, who was awarded the Golden Hostess Rose and passed away in January 2023, did everything for her guests from morning to night. Even back then, the Hofkuchl was already cooking up a storm: many of our recipes date back to this time. And master butcher Markus Loidolt still barbecues today as he did 50 years ago. Hospitality and a love of wine were practically passed on to us at the Semriacherhof - or, as Sandra Loidolt likes to say: "Grandad and I are cut from the same cloth - probably from the same vine."
Today we, Sandra and Markus, are the 3rd generation to run the family business. While Sandra, a wine academic, has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the art of winemaking, barman Markus is the gastronomic Swiss army knife of our business. As passionate hosts, we take care of everything in the house together. We simply love being there for our guests - with our hearty, Styrian pub cuisine and sincere service. Always at our side: Sylvia Loidolt, who has run the Semriacherhof on her own for 16 years and made it what it is today: a home for everyone who comes to visit us.
What is there to discover in Semriach and the surrounding area? Quite a lot! We reveal the highlights of our region.
